Today's article is written by Brian Mckay, where we caught up with him at Edgar Street home to Hereford Utd on 28th Jan 2012, The Shrews fans were all looking forward to a local derby with a win which would take Shrewsbury up to 3rd place in the leaque.
The match was played in front of 3,515 fans of which 1,256 were Shrews fans.
Shrews won 2-0

We started the day with the quick hop to Hereford, everybody on the coach were in good spirits, looking forward to a good game, most importantly 3 points and the bragging rights over Hereford.
The game didn't disappoint. in the first half the town played well and worked hard for each other, resulting in two fine goals for the town, Terery Gornell first with a header and James Collins with the second, a fine right footed low shot that went to the left of Herefords goalkeeper out of his reach and onto the foot of the post and sliced into the Hereford goal.
In the second half the Town continued to play well, however due to lack of skill in the Hereford team the game seemed to loose its excitment.
However the 1,250 or so Shrews travelling fans represented the Town well.
All in all, a good display, a good win, and a good day had by all.
