Oh well, we never win at Torquay do we? We travelled down to Torquay in the hope we could put to bed another one of those "bogey" teams after wins at Gillingham and Port Vale. Also knowing we would go 3rd with a win today put this game in the pretty important catergory. We finish the day in 6th feeling we missed an opportunity.
Eyebrows were rasied by the formation with the obvious intension to pack the centre of midfield. In the first half the players appeared to struggle with understanding the formation themseleves. Torquays pace and movement caused us problems all the first half and we considered ourseleves fortunate to be 0-0 at half time. In the second half we seemed to get more into the game, and we had a few oppertunites to get forward on the break. The Torquay goal came in the 70th minute after the goalkeeper and defence failed to clear the ball. We finished the game pushing for an equaliser with 5 forwards on the pitch.
At least we have the chance to get back to winning ways soon with a home game on Tuesday night. If we can keep our home form going we still have a good chance of promotion.
We are still only 4 points off the top after all. I just hope we don't regret these away defeats against clubs above us.
